RajuluMember, Health Equity CoreEmail: deepa.rajulu@health.ny.govDeepa Rajulu, is the Deputy Director of the AIDS Institute in the Office of Health Equity and Human Rights at the New York State Department of Health, with oversight for HIV/STI epidemiology, surveillance, outbreak response, and emerging issues. During her nearly 22 years at the Department of Health, she has served in various roles in chronic disease epidemiology and HIV epidemiology, including previously serving as the Director of the AIDS Institute's Division of HIV/STI Epidemiology, Evaluation, and Partner Services, where she oversaw HIV surveillance, HIV/STI field services, and HIV data analysis and research translation. Areas under Deepa Rajulu's oversight serve as a source of information to guide AIDS Institute program and resource allocation decisions and to provide a robust, factual picture of the HIV epidemic and sexually transmitted infections in New York State, as well as providing expertise and analytics to track the impact and outcomes of statewide HIV prevention efforts. Previously, she directed the HIV/AIDS surveillance program, where she oversaw HIV laboratory surveillance, recruitment into public health reporting, clinician reporting, perinatal surveillance, data-to-care initiatives, and field operations of epidemiologic investigations on reports of suspected HIV infections. Deepa Rajulu serves as the principal investigator of Centers for Disease Control HIV surveillance grants for New York State.
