Victor ReyesVictor Reyes was born and raised in Harlem, New York City. He and his wife moved to Washington, DC, where he lives and works as an after-school program director at an independent Pre-K through 8th-grade school on Capitol Hill. Victor began his career at The Association to Benefit Children (ABC), a Harlem-based not-for-profit organization. He had the pleasure of working at ABC in various capacities for eight years. He moved to DC with his wife six years ago and worked as a teaching assistant at The River School for three years before becoming the after-school director at Capitol Hill Day School in the fall of 2022.Victor's commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond his professional career. He has been a dedicated advocate at Harlem Hospital's Family Care Center, a specialized clinic for children and adolescents living with perinatal HIV. His advocacy work has taken him to speak at esteemed institutions such as Howard University, the Stigma Conference, Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, the University of Maryland School of Medicine, NYU's Institute for Human Development and Social Change, and the CROI Conference. Victor's continued involvement as a research associate at Howard University's Department of Psychology's Global Community Health Lab and as a research consultant at The HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University is a testament to his unwavering dedication to community health and building a better future for all.
