The fourth phase of the epidemic has focused on US and global EHE initiatives and can be seen as a critical moment – a tipping point – if all evidence-based tools can be adopted and brought to scale. Realizing this goal requires interdisciplinary research, particularly integration of biomedical with behavioral and social sciences. Further, the critical persistently high-risk populations most likely to have co-morbidities and face other intersecting gender, sexual, racial/ethnic, economic challenges must be engaged and supported along the HIV prevention and treatment continua. The HIV Center’s research – conducted in New York City, New York State, and countries hardest hit by the HIV/AIDS epidemic – is focused on the following major areas:Social Determinants of HIV Risk and PreventionHIV Health Outcomes and Engagement in Care and TreatmentMental Health and Substance Use in the Context of HIVUptake of Emerging Biomedical TechnologiesDigital, Telehealth, and Big Data StrategiesThe HIV Center has been awarded 9 administrative supplements in support of the Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America (EHE) initiative. These implementation science research projects were developed by our teams of ARC investigators and community and local partners to support the local ending the HIV epidemic plans. Our investigators have also coordinated with local EHE teams to ensure the projects support and inform local EHE plans.EHE Administrative Supplements Social Determinants of HIV Risk and Prevention Dustin T.
